once upon a time, this was my life. things were carefree, laughter was plentiful, and we danced in our bare feet on the back porch in darkness. we ate sugar cubes and watched crappy tv, stayed up until forever talking about nothing. we shared our innermost thoughts and feelings, everything about ourselves that nobody else knew.
if only i knew how to get it, that moment or some semblance of it, back. because it seems to have disappeared and i haven’t been the same since.
